One of the three pillars of the Chicago Connectory is to educate about the Internet of Things (IoT). We firmly believe that success in IoT relies not only on strong partnerships but also on sharing expertise, getting feedback about your product or exploring and validating business opportunities together.

This is why we are inviting you to teach a workshop in our IoT co-creation space! Whether you are a student or professional, work for a startup, enterprise, school, non-profit or civic body, our doors are open to host your workshop.

By teaching a workshop you receive

  • Usage of our workshop space (usage for up to 2 hours is included for community members; non-members may use the space for a price, which will vary depending on topic, size and duration of the proposed workshop)
  • Promotion and coverage of your workshop through our Chicago Connectory communication channels
  • Complimentary drinks and snacks will be provided for host and attendees

Who can participate in the workshops?
Members of the Chicago Connectory and 1871 can participate in the workshops. Some workshops will be available to the general public at the discretion of the host and the Chicago Connectory.

Are the workshops and trainings free to attend?
Workshops and trainings are offered by subject matter experts from different areas such as corporations, academic institutions, non-profit organizations and more. Some workshops and trainings, depending on content level, may have charges for registration, but many are offered complimentary to members and to a broader audience.

How can I host a workshop or training?
To host a workshop, please fill out the form below. Designated workshop and general training time slots will be given to members and partners of the Chicago Connectory.

What is required to host a workshop or training?
Content preparation is the responsibility of the workshop or training facilitator. The Chicago Connectory team will review the workshop or training content created by the facilitator.
