Matching your business growth with the right startup is not an easy process. When an internal business challenge needs outside support, there are many different, and often cumbersome, steps to finding the company who will provide the best solution. In 2016, Bosch was facing this challenge and worked with the Chicago Connectory to find a startup that would fit their requirements. The team at the Chicago Connectory reached out to their new ecosystem and began scouting for a startup that would fit the profile. After a successful pitch from Catalytic, the collaboration began and through the Connectory network engagement with further business units occurred. In 2018 the startup received the 2018 Bosch Supplier Innovation Award and is now a preferred solution for process automation within Bosch.
The Chicago Connectory invites startups, corporates, civic partners, universities, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs to join its growing IoT ecosystem. The aim of the co-creation space is to not only to provide a physical place where IoT startups can thrive and build a successful business, but to manage a growing network and create mutually beneficial connections between network partners. As in this case, Bosch an active partner and co-founder, took advantage of the ecosystem to easily and successfully find a startup that met their needs.
